So, I didn't want to make this a very long post today, but I wanted to do a quick one on eye creams and eye treatments.
The skin around the eyes is so fine and is very delicate so we really need to look after it.
The first thing I wanted to mention is about eye makeup. Eye makeup can be so ageing around the eyes, not because the product itself damages the skin but it's more about the removal. We tend to really rub our eyes when we wash our face at night and this can really damage that fine, delicate skin. Try and use a very gentle eye makeup remover around them. I love using my Cleansing Beauty Balm to gently massage around my eyes or a nice eye makeup remover to get rid of any mascara and eye makeup. Be very gentle and try not to scrub. If you can use only your ring fingers when removing makeup as these are the most gentle so will hopefully create minimal damage.
I also wanted to mention how important eye creams are in our skincare routine. I (and most of my clients) swear by the Nimue Anti-Ageing Eye cream. We must be aware though how to apply eye creams. You only need around a grain of rice amount of cream split between your two ring fingers. Then gently massage around the eye area. You don't want to apply any product on your eye lid or directly underneath your eyes but instead just below the brow bone and about the top of the cheek bone. If you find that eye creams irritate your eyes in the night, it could be because you are applying them incorrectly and its seeping into your eyes at night time. Do push it too far in, it will creep in naturally by itself anyway.
Then, if you can once a week pop on a collagen eye film underneath the eye area and leave it for 10-20 minutes. If you have puffy eyes, keep them in the fridge so they are nice and cooling when they go on. Then massage any product into the skin and follow with your eye cream.
Your eyes should be looking tip-top in no time!
If you want to try the Nimue eye cream or Collagen Eye Films, please do not hesitate to contact me and we can discuss the products that I think will be best suited to you.
Thanks so much for reading!
