6 Tips For Treating Pores

As someone who has struggled with large pores, I understand the frustration of dealing with this common skin concern. Enlarged pores can be caused by various factors, including genetics, oily skin, sun damage, and aging. Fortunately, I have some effective treatments and skincare products on hand to help minimise the appearance of pores and improve overall skin texture. Here are some strategies that have worked for me:

1. Peel Pads: One of my go-to treatments for reducing the appearance of large pores is Peel Pads. I love the Priori Q-Sod Peel Pads and also the SkinBetter Science AlphaRet Pads. These pads contain a blend of alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) and retinoids, which work together to exfoliate the skin, unclog pores, and stimulate collagen production. With regular use of these peel pads, you can help improve your skin texture and minimise the appearance of enlarged pores over time. I love to do the Priori Pads once a week or the SkinBetter AlphaRet Peel Pads twice a week

2. Gentle Exfoliation: Exfoliation is essential for keeping pores clear and preventing them from becoming clogged with debris and excess oil. I adore to use the Nimue Exfoliating Enzyme because it is a gentle yet effective exfoliator that uses natural enzymes to dissolve dead skin cells and unclog pores. Building this exfoliator into your skincare routine 1-2 times per week can help refine the appearance of pores and promote smoother, more radiant skin.

3. Treat with Active Serums: Another product that can make a noticeable difference in reducing the size of pores is SkinBetter Science's Mystro Active Balance Serum. This advanced serum contains a potent blend of antioxidants, that work together to improve skin clarity, reduce redness and overall texture. Regular use of this serum can help soften the appearance of pores, leaving the skin looking smoother and more youthful.

4. Keep Skin Moisturised and Hydrated: Hydration is key for maintaining healthy skin and reducing the visibility of pores. Forlle'd skincare products are renowned for their hydrating properties, thanks to their patented hyaluronic acid molecule. Hyaluronic acid is a powerful humectant that attracts and retains moisture in the skin, helping to plump and hydrate the complexion. Incorporating a hydrating moisturiser or serum into your skincare routine can help keep your skin hydrated and minimise the appearance of large pores as dehydrated skin can make pores appear more visible. For oiler skins who still want a nourishing face cream from Forlle'd, the Reliance Gel is an absolute no brainer. It's so soothing, cooling and hydrating.

5. Protect Your Skin from Sun Damage: Sun exposure can exacerbate pore size and contribute to premature aging. To protect your skin from harmful UV rays, be sure to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 40 or higher every day, even on cloudy days. Additionally, wearing a wide-brimmed hat and seeking shade when outdoors can help minimise sun damage and keep your pores looking smaller.

As you probably know I swear by Nimue's Sun-C SPF 40 every single day. It's packed with antioxidants and moisturising ingredients to keep the skin nourished as well as protected.

6. Incorporate LED Light Therapy: LED light therapy is another effective treatment for reducing the appearance of large pores. Red light therapy can stimulate collagen production and improve skin texture, and help reduce inflammation. Incorporating LED light therapy into your skincare routine can help improve the overall health and appearance of your skin, including reducing the size of pores. My go to is the Priori LED Masks. They have a face, neck and also hand masks to treat all areas of concern.

Addressing large pores can be difficult I know. You need a multi-faceted approach that includes regular exfoliation, targeted treatments, hydration, and sun protection. By incorporating these tips and treatments into your skincare routine, you can help minimise the appearance of pores and achieve smoother, more radiant skin. I would say though, remember to be patient and consistent with your skincare regimen, as results may take time to become visible.
