The other night I fancied some kind of hot drink. I wanted it to be warming, tasty and help me sleep. So, after playing around with different herbs, powders and other concoctions, I came up with this.
Now, I'm not 100% sure which part of it knocks me out, in fact it might be a combination of everything. I did feel super sleepy afterwards and I swear it helped me get my Zzz's. Plus, it is DELICIOUS!
So here is my recipe for my 'Self-Care' Bedtime drink...
WHAT YOU NEED:
Cup of Coconut Milk Drink - I measure this into my cup first and then pour into my saucepan (I love the Rude Health Organic Coconut Drink)
1 tbsp Dried Rose Petals
1 Tbsp Coconut Milk Powder
Good grating of Nutmeg
Good Pinch of Ground Turmeric
Good Pinch of Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Ashwaghanda Powder
1 tsp Coconut Sugar (or any other natural sweetener you prefer)
METHOD:
Add all the ingredients to a small sauce pan
Warm the milk mixture but do not boil
After stirring for a few mins on the hob, drain through a sieve or tea strainer and serve
I think when you decide to make yourself a drink like this, it's not just something that you whip up and neck quickly. This is to be enjoyed in a 'moment'. So, put your feet up, get your 'hygge' on and grab a good book.
Sit back and enjoy!
Thanks so much for reading,
Emmaline
