3 Great Essential Oils For Women's Health

Aromatherapy can be my saviour at certain times of the month. I especially love to use essential oils each month to help ease symptoms of PMS such as stress, anxiety, cramps and imbalanced moods.

Obviously, essential oils can be used for a whole variety of purposes, but today, I'm focusing on ways that they can be used to promote women's health and self-care.

Here are my top 3 essential oils that could just not live without at 'that time of the month'.

GERANIUM

This is such a beautiful oil. Very floral smelling and quite heady too - so less is definitely more.

It can help to balance oil production on the face in a face oil, calm mood swings and (when blended with a carrier oil) can also be used to massage onto the abdomen to help with cramps.

Use it:

  • In the bath with bath crystals

  • In an oil burner

  • Blend with carrier oils for the face and body

LAVENDER

Another floral oil known to help with stress, anxiety and sleeping issue. It can also be used for it's anti-bacterial purposes.

Use it:

  • A few drops on a tissue placed at the top of your pillow can help you sleep.

  • Add it to pulse points to help with stress and anxiety.

  • Perfect to use in the bath or in body oils

GRAPEFRUIT

A really refreshing scented oil to help uplift the mind. It can really help with that 'low-mood' feeling with PMS. I love to have it burning in the kitchen in the morning to awaken the house and set the mood for the day.

Use it:

  • Add a few drops of oil to a well of water in the oil burner to lift the mood.

Finally, you could actually blend all three oils together in an oil burner to create a beautifully scented room.

One of the hardest struggles with PMS (alongside the cramps) is the shift in mood. One minute you're fine and the next you could be crying at a TV commercial.

Try adding some essential oils to your routine to see if they help you at all. I couldn't live without them now!

Thanks so much for reading,
