There are so many different types of exfoliators on the market these days it can be a little overwhelming knowing which one to choose.
There are also many creams and treatments that you can purchase that contain AHA's and retinols which also provide an exfoliating effect.
SO WHAT IS THE BEST TIME...?
I would say if you can always exfoliate in the evening before bed. Ideally you would leave at least thirty minutes before your head touches the pillow after you've done your skincare. This will help prevent your pillow absorbing a lot of your skincare (especially if you're not using a silk pillowcase).
If you have a big event that you want your skin to glow for, then exfoliating the night before should be perfect. I wouldn't recommend exfoliating in the morning if you are going to apply makeup straight afterwards as it may block your pores.
It's great to exfoliating once or twice a week, varying your style of product too. For example, you could use my Exfoliating Face Mask one day in the week and use the Nimue Exfoliating Enzyme or the SkinBetter Science AlphaRet Peel Pads another night. Just ensure they are well spaced apart in the week.
If you're unsure which exfoliator is best for your skin, then why not book a consultation with me here and we can assess your skin and really figure out what products are best for you.
Thank you so much for reading,
Emmaline
