POTENTIAL RISKS FROM TREATMENTS

As part of my commitment to transparency and your well-being, it's important to be aware of potential contra-actions or risks that may occur following facial treatments. While these are uncommon, everyone's skin responds differently. Please take note of the following:

  • Temporary Redness: Mild redness is a common reaction to treatments and usually subsides within a few hours.

  • Skin Sensitivity: Your skin may become temporarily more sensitive, especially if acid peels are involved.

  • Dryness or Peeling: Some treatments may cause temporary dryness or peeling, particularly with exfoliation.

  • Bruising: Facial massage or cupping may rarely cause minor bruising, especially for individuals with sensitive skin.

  • Allergic Reactions: Although we use gentle products, there is always a minimal risk of an allergic reaction. Please inform us of any known allergies.

  • Acne Flare-ups: In some cases, facials may trigger a temporary acne flare-up as the skin purges impurities.

  • Swelling: Buccal massage or other treatments may result in slight swelling, particularly if you are prone to fluid retention.

  • Discomfort or Tenderness: Some discomfort or tenderness may be experienced after certain treatments, such as microcurrent.

  • Photosensitivity: LED light therapy may increase sensitivity to sunlight; hence, sun protection is crucial.

  • Pregnancy Contradictions: Certain treatments, like buccal massage or LED therapy, may have contraindications during pregnancy.

  • Adverse Reactions to Products: Rarely, an adverse reaction to a specific product used during the facial may occur. If any persistent erythema, redness, swelling or irritation occurs, clients should inform me immediately.

  • Hyperpigmentation or Hypopigmentation: Individuals with a predisposition to pigmentation issues may be at a slight risk.

  • Scarring, discolouration or lightening of the sin and hair loss in the areas of treatment.

  • Reddening, mild tingling, bruising, blistering or swelling and/or a "sunburn" type of feeling.

  • Herpes Simplex (Cold Sores) Activation: Facial treatments may trigger cold sores in individuals prone to the herpes simplex virus.

  • Rare Skin Conditions: Individuals with rare skin conditions may experience unpredictable reactions.

  • Eye Irritation: Take precautions during treatments involving the eye area to prevent irritation.

  • Risk of Infection: Although rare, there is a minimal risk of infection, particularly if aftercare instructions are not followed diligently.

  • Please understand that these risks are rare, and we take every precaution to minimise them. Your safety and satisfaction are our top priorities. If you experience any unexpected reactions, please contact us immediately.

To ensure optimal results and maintain the health of your skin, please follow these aftercare instructions:

  • Hydration is Key: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from within.

  • Client MUST avoid prolonged sun exposure and sun beds during a course of Professional Treatments and use a broad-spectrum SPF of 30 or higher thereafter.

  • Gentle Cleansing: Cleanse your face with a mild, non-abrasive cleanser.

  • Hands Off: Avoid touching or picking at your face to prevent irritation or infection.

  • Skip Heavy Makeup: If possible, avoid heavy makeup for the next 24 hours.

  • Moisturise: Apply a gentle, hydrating moisturiser to nourish your skin.

  • Next Appointment: Schedule your next facial treatment based on the recommendations provided during your consultation.

  • Microneedling Treatments: Ensure to keep the skin free from products and avoid anything coming into contact with the treatment area for 12 hours after your treatment.

  • When using Nimue, you can NOT combine it with ANY other products due to Nimue’s lower pH
